Exciting news from Hong Kong! Over the past two years, the HKSAR's talent schemes have approved nearly 90% of applications from talents on the Chinese mainland. Under the Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals (ASMTP), more than 53,000 applications were filed with around 47,000 approvals, making it a robust channel for fresh opportunities.
Meanwhile, the General Employment Policy (GEP) received over 67,000 applications and approved almost 63,000. With the GEP, about 70% of the approved roles are short-term contracts, while the ASMTP splits nearly evenly between short-term (46%) and long-term (54%) positions. These numbers have helped fill key roles in commerce, trade, tourism, academic research, education, and financial services.
Most new talents are earning between HKD 20,000 and 39,999 per month (roughly $2578 to $5155), demonstrating that these schemes are aligning with competitive market standards. The HKSAR's initiatives are designed to attract Chinese citizens residing overseas and professionals from the Chinese mainland, ensuring local enterprises stay competitive and innovative. For young professionals and tech-savvy go-getters, these figures signal a dynamic work environment full of opportunity. 🚀
