Xinjiang’s New Air Route Boosts E-Commerce

Xinjiang just made a bold move in the air cargo scene! A Boeing 767 freighter, loaded with 51 tonnes of e-commerce goods, departed from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and landed in Tallinn, Estonia. This first direct air cargo route to the Baltic Sea area is set to transform trade links, cutting logistics costs and speeding up deliveries. 🚀

The flight, operating once weekly with an 11-hour journey, offers a 30% increase in cargo capacity compared to conventional aircraft. It mainly transports light industrial products like garments and daily essentials, making it a real game-changer for both Chinese sellers and northern European consumers.

Feng Liang, general manager of Xinjiang Wanshengtong Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., highlighted the route's potential to directly connect Chinese e-commerce with northern Europe. Meanwhile, Urumqi—the capital of the region—has already established 20 international cargo routes, including 12 to key European hubs, with a massive surge in cargo flights and throughput this year.

This innovative air route underlines the vibrant strides in cross-border trade and the Belt and Road Initiative, paving the way for faster shipping and a better online shopping experience for tech-savvy, global citizens. Exciting times ahead in the world of e-commerce! 🌏✨
