The third China-Latin America Cultural Tour Exhibition kicked off at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), delivering a vibrant mix of Chinese books, creative products, and live performances. Around 150 enthusiastic attendees, including students, faculty, and cultural representatives, got a taste of rich traditions blended with modern flair. 🎉
This dynamic event showcased over 500 Chinese books—from themed titles and language textbooks to traditional culture volumes and children’s picture books—alongside more than 100 cultural and creative products with a modern Chinese twist. The live demonstrations, featuring glove puppetry and intricate paper-cutting, added extra sparkle to the celebration! 🙌
A representative from the Bureau of International Communication under China’s State Council Information Office explained that the curated exhibits highlight Chinese development insights and deep cultural heritage, especially appealing to Gen Z. The goal is to share the beauty of Chinese traditions and nurture stronger people-to-people bonds between China and Peru.
Chinese Embassy counselor Zhao Xiaoming pointed out that with both China and Peru rooted in ancient civilizations, there’s a solid foundation for ongoing cultural cooperation. He expressed hope that this event will inspire more locals to explore and appreciate traditional Chinese culture. Maribel Temoche Cortez, local director of the Confucius Institute at PUCP, described the exhibition as a perfect window into China’s wisdom and development, resonating with the Peruvian public. Zhao Lihong from the same institute noted that the live heritage performances were met with enthusiastic responses from students and residents alike.
