Green Methanol Fuels Diesel Vessel at Hainan Port

In a pioneering twist for sustainable shipping, China BlueChemical Ltd. has taken a bold step by injecting 200 tonnes of green methanol—produced from urban waste—into a conventional diesel vessel at Yangpu Port in Hainan! 🚢🌱

This green methanol is created using biogas generated from the fermentation of kitchen scraps, animal manure, and more. The innovative process is expected to cut around 325 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is comparable to planting over 19,000 trees! 🌳💚

Wu Hongsheng, head of China BlueChem's green methanol working group, highlights that this successful refueling signals a major shift in transforming traditional shipping into a cleaner, more sustainable industry.

For tech-savvy and eco-conscious readers, this breakthrough proves that even conventional industries can ride the wave of green innovation—merging technology with a commitment to our planet's future. ♻️
