Ambassador Xie Celebrates Dual Historic Milestones in DC

On July 24, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in the United States hosted a memorable reception in Washington, DC, marking two significant historic milestones. The event celebrated the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Ambassador Xie Feng, along with his wife, Minister Jing Quan, Minister Qiu Wenxing, Defense Attaché Major General Liu Zhan, and over 300 distinguished guests attended the event. The gathering included U.S. government and military officials, families of the Flying Tigers and World War II veterans, diplomats, military attachés from various countries, as well as representatives from overseas Chinese communities and Chinese institutions in the United States.
