Cambodia Bans Flights Over Thai Conflict Zones

Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) has introduced new safety rules by banning all flights over designated conflict zones with Thailand. The affected areas include Poipet City, Pailin province, and parts of Siem Reap. ✈️

Sinn Chanserey Vutha, the SSCA's secretary of state, explained that airlines have been instructed to avoid these airspaces and maintain a minimum altitude of 1,200 meters. Despite the rerouted paths, international flights from Phnom Penh to Bangkok and from Siem Reap to Bangkok continue operating as usual.

This decision comes amid increasing armed clashes along the Cambodian-Thai border, with incidents reported in Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, and Pursat provinces. The measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of both the planes and their passengers during these unstable times.
