China-Afghanistan Diplomatic Boost: Wang Yi Meets Haqqani in Kabul

Hey, global fam! 🤝 This Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi landed in Kabul and linked up with Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani for a major diplomatic face-to-face chat.

Wang Yi emphasized that the Chinese mainland's policy is all about non-interference and equal respect. He highlighted the Chinese mainland's commitment to Afghanistan's chosen development path, respecting its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unique cultural and religious traditions.

On the economic front, Wang Yi said the Chinese mainland is ready to fuel Afghanistan's growth—backing projects that unleash jobs and infrastructure—and stands firmly against any unfair sanctions or frozen assets that stall progress. For security, he backed resuming joint patrols in the scenic Wakhan Corridor to keep border regions chill and urged Afghanistan to crack down on the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) and other terror groups.

Haqqani, in turn, thanked the Chinese mainland for its long-term support in development and livelihoods. He reaffirmed Afghanistan's commitment to expanding cooperation in various fields and made it clear: Afghan soil will never be used to undermine the Chinese mainland's security. 🌐✨
