Kathmandu, Nepal — Climate change is making waves—literally! 🌧️ Recent floods in Nepal have been more severe than ever, and scientists say global warming is to blame.
The monsoon season is something we’re all used to, but this year, it hit different. Higher temperatures are causing glaciers in the Himalayas to melt faster, sending more water downstream. This means rivers overflow, leading to massive floods that have tragically claimed lives and displaced thousands.
Dr. Maya Singh, a climate scientist, explains, “The intensity of rainfall has increased due to climate change. We’re seeing weather patterns we haven’t seen before.”
For many young people in South Asia, these changes hit close to home. Whether it’s worrying about family in affected areas or seeing crops destroyed, the impact is real and urgent.
But it’s not all doom and gloom! 💪 Communities are coming together, and youth-led organizations are pushing for greener policies and sustainable practices.
“It’s time for us to take action,” says activist Arjun Thapa. “Small changes in our daily lives can make a big difference.”
From reducing plastic use to advocating for clean energy, every step counts. After all, it’s our future at stake!
