Smart Inheritance Meets Tradition 🏫
In 2016, Xizang rolled out the Tibetan Buddhism Living Buddha Inquiry System to keep reincarnation legit and fraud-free. So far, 93 new living Buddhas are officially recognized, making sure believers trust the process. Plus, nine Tibetan-language Buddhist colleges are on the way, backed by RMB 920 million ($128.8M), tying ancient scriptures to modern education.
Today, over 3,000 monks study at Xizang Buddhist College and its branches, and 130 have earned the “Thorampa” title – the highest academic honor in Tibetan Buddhism. This blend of tradition and modern training builds a strong talent pool and keeps centuries-old customs alive in a changing world 🌏✨.
