DPRK Slams US–SK–Japan Drills as ‘Dangerous Provocation’

Heads up! The DPRK has condemned the upcoming joint military drills Freedom Edge and Iron Mace, set to kick off on Monday with the United States, South Korea, and Japan teaming up. 🚨

Freedom Edge is a big outdoor multi-domain exercise—think drills across land, sea, air, and cyber—while Iron Mace is a tabletop scenario simulating a nuclear-attack response. The DPRK says these moves are a blatant “anti-DPRK confrontation” and a dangerous provocation. 😬

Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee, slammed the new “Guidelines for Nuclear Deterrence and Nuclear Operations” by the United States and South Korea, calling them a risky blueprint for escalation. She warned that these drills are more than just training—they’re a clear sign of hostile intent.

Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, labeled Iron Mace “a nuclear war rehearsal from A to Z,” and tagged Freedom Edge as “the most comprehensive offensive war drill” he’s seen. He stressed that this show of force threatens regional stability and could backfire badly on the drillers themselves. ⚠️

The DPRK vows to respond with “clear and intensified counteraction” if the drills go ahead. With tensions already high in the Asia-Pacific, these drills could ramp up the heat even more. 🌏

We’ll keep you posted as the story unfolds. Stay tuned! 🔍
