70 Years of Change 🎉
This year marks the 70th anniversary of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. What was once one of the country’s poorest areas has transformed into a vibrant region bustling with growth and opportunity.
From Fields to High-Tech Farms 🌾
With some support and a lot of hard work, Xinjiang now leads the nation in grain yields — think almost 8 tons per hectare! Cotton farmers are also crushing it, producing nearly 5.7 million tonnes (over 90% of China’s total).
Powering the Future ⚡
On the energy front, installed capacity jumped to 192.7 million kW in 2024, and renewables now make up over 100 million kW of that. Solar panels and wind turbines are sprouting up like mushrooms, lighting homes and charging devices across the region.
Silk Road 2.0: Connecting Asia & Europe 🚄
Bordering eight countries, Xinjiang has become a key link on the modern Silk Road. In 2024 alone, more than 16,400 freight trains rolled through, making it the fifth year in a row with over 10,000 runs between China and Europe.
Looking Ahead: Unity & Harmony 🤝
Leaders are calling for continued focus on unity, cultural progress, and environmental balance. The goal? A modern Xinjiang where everyone lives and works in peace and contentment. 🌱
