He highlighted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Global Governance Initiative (GGI) as a key driver for countries to join forces under multilateral platforms like the UN. The goal? Address big challenges—from economic gaps to climate crises—together.

Li urged a balanced push across the UN’s three pillars—peace, development, and human rights—while placing extra emphasis on development. He also flagged emerging fields like artificial intelligence, cyberspace, polar regions, and outer space as areas in need of updated global rules. 🚀🤖

On politics, Li reminded everyone that the Taiwan question lies at the core of China’s core interests and voiced confidence that Baerbock and the UN will uphold the one-China principle.

Baerbock praised China’s consistent support for the UN and noted that Xi’s four global initiatives align with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. She’s eager to collaborate under this year’s UNGA80 theme 'Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights' to deepen cooperation and drive world peace and growth.

She also affirmed that, per UNGA Resolution 2758, this session will strictly follow the one-China principle. 🤝
