Rome Dialogue Sparks Urban Visions Between the Chinese Mainland and Italy

Rome came alive this Sunday as the Sino-Italian Dialogue on Urban Civilization 2025 rolled into town! 🌆✨ Bringing together government officials, scholars, think-tank pros and urban planners from the Chinese mainland and Italy, the forum dove into how centuries-old heritage can fuel tomorrow’s metropolises.

Held under the theme “Cultural Continuity and the Construction of Urban Civilization,” sessions ranged from restoring historic districts with smart tech to reimagining public spaces as community hubs—just the kind of cross-culture mashup that gets our creative juices flowing! 💡

“This dialogue between the Chinese mainland and Italy represents not only a cross-temporal exchange of civilizations, but also an intellectual journey toward a shared future,” said Hu Kaihong, deputy director of the General Office of the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress on the Chinese mainland.

The big highlight? The official launch of the Italy–Chinese mainland Joint Center for City Civilization. 🇮🇹🇨🇳 Keynotes came from Han Xu, vice president of the China Academy of Art, and Alberto Bradanini, former Ambassador of Italy to the Chinese mainland, setting the stage for fresh collabs in design, policy and heritage preservation.

What’s next? Picture VR city tours that mix ancient Silk Road paths with modern skyline views, sustainable design hacks inspired by Rome’s aqueducts, and youth-driven hackathons to retool your hood for the digital age. 🚀🏙️
