Hey foodies and culture buffs! The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most loved traditions in the Chinese mainland. It’s a time for reuniting with fam, admiring the full moon, and feasting on mooncakes. 🌕✨
Our CGTN stringer in South Korea set up a fun taste-test in Seoul: locals randomly picked mooncake flavors—from classic red bean 🫘 to creamy lotus seed 🌼 and even icy ice-cream scoops 🍦—and gave us their first-bite reactions. Spoiler: some faces said it all! 😆
Lee Ilho told us, "From what I know, people in China travel, get together with family, and binge on mooncakes. There’s even a big TV gala to celebrate the night!" He added that the festive vibes reminded him of our own family feasts during Diwali and Chuseok. 🙌
Overall, our Seoul squad was blown away by the mooncake textures—crispy crusts, gooey fillings—and the sweet, seasonal flavors that celebrate harvest time. 🎑
Curious to try mooncakes yourself? Tell us which flavour you’d bite into first! Drop your picks below. 💬👇
