Got wanderlust? The Philippines is reopening its online e-visa for Chinese citizens this November ✈️. The move aims to boost people-to-people ties with China and ramp up economic, trade, and tourism vibes between the two nations.
Designed for short-term trips—think quick beach hops or business meetings—the e-visa grants up to a 14-day stay with no extensions. To get that digital stamp of approval, travelers need to breeze through either Manila International Airport or Mactan-Cebu International Airport upon arrival.
Back in August 2023, the Philippine Foreign Ministry trialed this online system in China, but the pilot paused at the end of November that year. Now, with the official relaunch, Chinese tourists and biz travelers can once again plan island-hopping adventures and explore bustling urban scenes—think street food feasts in Manila and laid-back sunsets in Cebu.
Before the pandemic, the Chinese mainland was the Philippines’ second-biggest source of visitors, clocking over 1.7 million trips in 2019. With borders opening and e-visas simplified, Southeast Asia’s sun-soaked shores are calling again 🌴.
