CMG Ships First 8K & 4K Gear to 2026 Winter Olympics

Hey tech fam! China Media Group (CMG) just rolled out the first batch of high-tech broadcasting gear for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina 🎿🚀.

A total of 1,026 pieces packed into 18 trucks in Beijing are on their way to Ningbos Port of Meishan before heading to Italy in 10 containers at the end of October. Two more major shipments, plus air and rail deliveries, will follow soon.

What makes this epic? For the first time ever, CMG will produce the international 4K ultra-HD signal for figure skating and short track speed skating, while also flexing 8K tech muscle. Yep, you heard that right: next-level clarity for every spin and sprint 🏃‍♂️⛸️.

Before jetting off, most of this gear will shine at Chinas 15th National Games this November a sneak peek of Chinas home-grown tech prowess on a global stage.

"Were sending two Chinese Red UHD broadcasting vehicles and a cube UHD system, plus cutting-edge gadgets to support the opening and closing ceremonies, figure skating, and short track speed skating," says Wang Dagang, CMGs broadcasting tech lead for the 2026 Games. "This breaks the Euro-American tech monopoly and showcases the rise of Chinese innovations."
