Over 93M Passengers Cross Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in 7 Years

Can you believe it? In just 7 years, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has welcomed over 93.34 million passenger trips through the Zhuhai port! 🚗🌉 This 55-km mega-structure – part bridge, part tunnel (it even dives underwater to keep shipping lanes clear) – links the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, and Zhuhai city in the south of the Chinese mainland. It's the world's longest bridge-and-tunnel sea crossing, and it's changing the travel game for good.

Back in 2019, the bridge saw 12.88 million passenger trips and 860,000 vehicle crossings. Fast forward to 2024, and those numbers skyrocketed to 27 million travelers and 5.55 million vehicles! So far this year, over 25.1 million passengers and 5.46 million vehicles have rolled through – that's a 17% and 25% jump compared to last year. 📈

What's fueling this boom? Expansion of individual travel from the Chinese mainland has supercharged tourism. Since January, the inspection station has welcomed a record 10.15 million visitors from the mainland, including 4.6 million travel-pass holders. Think weekend food hunts in Macao, beach vibes in Zhuhai, or late-night eats in Hong Kong – all now just a short trip away.

And the commute? It used to be a 3-hour drive from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macao. Now you can zap across in about 45 minutes – perfect for spontaneous road trips or catch-up sessions with friends. 🚙 In 2023, the Zhuhai port averaged 9,000 vehicles a day; today it's pushing over 18,000! Talk about doubling down on convenience.

From budget travelers to adventure seekers, the Bridge is opening up a world of possibilities. Whether you're planning your next weekend getaway or just curious about all those stats, one thing's clear: the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is more than just a route – it's a travel revolution. 🌏✨
