Bridging the Cross-Strait Divide ❤️
Meet Tian Qichang. Born in 1948, he never stopped searching for his father, who was drafted to Taiwan when Tian was just a kid. After years of hoping, he finally reunited with him in Hong Kong in 1979.
From Reunion to Revolution 📮
Fast forward to the ’80s: Tian left his job and founded the Cross-Straits Family Reunion Office. His mission? To deliver family letters for compatriots from both sides of the Straits and provide financial help so underprivileged families could meet in Hong Kong, easing the pain of separation.
Why It Still Matters 🌏
In our mobile-first world, it’s easy to forget how letters once carried not just words but hope. Tian’s story reminds us of the power of human connection—across borders and generations. Whether it’s a text, a call, or a handwritten note, these bonds shape who we are.
