US Military Strikes Another Suspected Drug Boat in Eastern Pacific; Colombia Condemns

🚨 US military hit another suspected drug-trafficking vessel in international waters of the Eastern Pacific on Wednesday, killing all three people on board.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth took to X to call this a 'lethal kinetic strike' on a 'narco-terrorist' boat, accusing the crew of carrying large amounts of narcotics along a known smuggling route. He wrote, 'We will find them and kill them until the threat to the American people is extinguished.'💥

The US has carried out seven similar operations in the Caribbean since September, targeting boats allegedly moving drugs from Venezuela. So far, at least 37 people have died, including those in two recent strikes off Colombia’s Pacific coast.

But not everyone’s on board. Colombian President Gustavo Petro slammed the attack as murder on X, saying it violated international law. Colombia’s Foreign Ministry also demanded an immediate halt to the strikes.⚖️

This latest clash adds fuel to the fire in the long-running maritime fight against drug trafficking. With both sides digging in, all eyes are on how this duel at sea will shape future security and diplomacy.🌍

And for those in South and Southeast Asia, it might sound familiar: coast guards often patrol the Malacca Strait to intercept smugglers — here, it’s the Eastern Pacific on the front lines of the global drug war. 🌊
