Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang landed in Belém this week with big ambitions: forge a long-term, strategic China–Brazil community with a shared future. 🚀
In talks with Rui Costa, Chief of Staff of the Brazilian Presidency, Ding highlighted that under the two heads of state’s guidance, cooperation across trade, tech and green energy is “in the best period in history.”
He pointed to China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) as a roadmap for fresh collaboration. The plan’s top-level designs open doors for joint projects in digital infrastructure, sustainable farming and cultural exchanges.
“Let’s be reliable partners on each other’s path to modernization,” Ding urged, calling for deeper alignment of development strategies and efficient, practical cooperation that benefits both nations.
China also values Brazil’s leadership roles in the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). Ding said he’s keen to work with Brazil to strengthen ties within these regional blocs.
On his side, Costa praised China as a dependable ally, crediting their partnership for boosting Brazil’s economy and improving people’s livelihoods. He echoed Ding’s call to accelerate projects and ramp up cultural exchanges, lifting the China–Brazil community to new heights. 🌏🤝
