Zhejiang’s Historic Win: Women’s Gymnastics Gold at 15th National Games

Heads up, gym fans! 🏅 This week, Zhejiang’s women’s gymnastics squad made history at the 15th National Games in Zhaoqing, south China’s Guangdong Province. In a nail-biting final, they edged co-hosts Guangdong by a mere 0.002 points to snag gold – their first-ever team title at the event!

After two events (vault and uneven bars), Guangdong led by 1.633 points. Both teams hit a few wobblers on the balance beam, but standout routines by Zhang Qingying and Zhang Xinyi gave Zhejiang a slim 0.101-point lead heading into the floor exercise.

Going into the last rotation, Guangdong, the two-time defending champions, brought their A-game on the floor. Yet Zhejiang held strong and finished with a score of 209.428, locking in gold. Guangdong took silver, while Hubei claimed bronze. 🎉

This win is a huge milestone for Zhejiang and proof that every tenth (and hundredth!) of a point counts. Can’t wait to see what these rising stars do next – stay tuned! 🌟
