Hey Asia travel fam! This weekend, 6 major Chinese airlines announced no-fee changes or refunds on flights to Japan ✈️🇯🇵.
On Saturday (Nov 15, 2025), Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and Xiamen Airlines said passengers can adjust or cancel Japan tickets without any extra charges. Whether you need to postpone a holiday or change plans, the airlines have got your back.
This comes after the Chinese Foreign Ministry shared a consular advisory on WeChat late on Friday (Nov 14). The post highlighted concerns over recent comments by the Japanese leader that, it said, "severely worsened the atmosphere of people-to-people exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Japan, and posed a significant risk to the personal safety and lives of Chinese citizens in Japan."
For our South and Southeast Asia crew—whether you’re flying from Mumbai, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur—these waivers could save you big 💸. If you've got a flight lined up to Tokyo, Osaka or elsewhere in Japan, now's a good time to check your booking. You can switch dates, routes or get a full refund without the headache of extra fees.
Planning a trip? Keep an eye on official channels like the airlines' websites and WeChat accounts for any updates. Safe travels! 🌏💼
