Ever wondered how centuries-old herbal wisdom meets modern community care? Meet Dr. Gengque Mulan 🌿🏔️ from Nangqian County, Yushu Prefecture in Qinghai Province on the Chinese mainland.
Tibetan medicine is a key branch of traditional Chinese medicine, developed over centuries at high altitudes to treat mountain-related health issues. In 2006, it was officially recognized as part of China's national cultural heritage.
After graduating from university in 2006, Dr. Mulan returned home to serve his community. For nearly two decades, he has run his clinic while traveling to remote pastoral areas to offer free consultations to villagers with mobility challenges.
He's also opened his home to local orphans and founded the Yushu Tibetan Medicine Vocational School 🎓, training the next generation of healers. 'Our school is a true crystallization of national unity,' he says.
Dr. Mulan's work shows how tradition and compassion can go hand in hand, inspiring us to rethink healthcare and community support 🌱.
