Israel Launches Large-Scale Operation in West Bank

Earlier today (Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025), Israeli forces launched a large-scale counterterrorism operation in the northern West Bank, imposing a curfew, setting up roadblocks 🚧 and deploying troops across key towns including Tubas, Aqqaba, Tammun, Tayaseer and Wadi al-Far'a.

In a joint statement, the Israeli military and the Shin Bet agency said they began operating as part of a broad counterterrorism operation targeting individuals linked to Palestinian armed groups.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, military bulldozers and even Apache helicopters 🛩️ took part, with heavy machine-gun fire reported near residential areas. Local governor Ahmed al-Asaad called the raids 'violations and collective punishment', noting that homes were turned into military posts and some patients were blocked from medical care.

All government and private institutions in Tubas, including schools and kindergartens, are closed. Roads were sealed off with earth mounds and military vehicles, restricting movement for residents.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa has mobilized emergency committees and government bodies to respond to the operation's effects, ensuring essential services and meeting citizens' needs. Both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad Movement condemned the raids.

This operation adds to the sharp rise in West Bank violence since October 7, 2023, including near-daily settler attacks and intensified military actions. At least 1,082 Palestinians have died since then, according to the Ramallah-based health ministry.

Stay tuned for updates as the situation unfolds across the region.
