Hey snow sports fans from South and Southeast Asia, gather round! The 2025-26 FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup kicked off on Nov 27 in the Secret Garden area of Zhangjiakou, and it was lit! 🏂🔥
Leading the charge was China’s own Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic champ Su Yiming, who topped Heat 2 with a whopping 92.75 points. He dropped a flawless 5.5-rotation spin (1980) on his second run—talk about next-level skills! 😎
"First stop of a Winter Olympics season always brings the heat," Su shared. "I planned the 1980 first but switched to 1800 in the moment. Super stoked I nailed that 1980 on try two. Got plenty of tricks in the bag!"
Over in Heat 1, 17-year-old Canadian phenom Eli Bouchard debuted a mind-blowing off-axis 1440 combo that judges named the “BouchBomb” 💥. Even with a slightly rough landing, the innovation earned him a top score of 93.25. Talk about making history at 17! 🙌
The format was simple: 60 riders, two heats of 30, two runs each, best score counts. Top 5 from each heat move on to Saturday’s final. Su’s teammate Ge Chunyu also punched his ticket with a clean 1980 spin, and four Japanese riders—Kira Kimura, Ryoma Kimata, Taiga Hasegawa, and Yuto Miyamura—also landed their 1980s to join the final crew. 🚀
As we count down to the final this weekend, catch all the action online. Whether you’re swiping through Instagram reels or tuning in on TikTok, these snowboarders are rewriting gravity. 🌨️✨
