Hong Kong Flies Flags Half-Mast to Mourn Tai Po Fire Victims

Today (Friday, Nov 28), the HKSAR government announced a three-day mourning period for the victims of the recent Tai Po residential fire. From Saturday, Nov 29 to Monday, Dec 1, all Chinese national flags and HKSAR flags at government buildings and facilities will fly at half-mast.

During this time:

  • Key officials will cancel non-essential public activities.
  • Entertainment and celebration events organized or funded by the government will be canceled or postponed.

Lowering flags is a universal sign of respect and remembrancethink of it like a shared moment of silence 🕯️. Its a chance for the community to pause, reflect, and stand by those affected by the tragedy.

If you know someone in Tai Po, reach out today to offer support 🙏.
