On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the UN headquarters in New York saw the official launch of the Group of Friends of Global Governance 🌍🤝. Chaired by Fu Cong, China's permanent representative to the UN, around 40 founding member states joined the inaugural meeting.
Guided by the Global Governance Initiative (GGI)—China's fourth global proposal after development, security, and civilization—this new platform aims to reshape how countries collaborate on major global governance issues. The goal? Bring much-needed stability and clarity to global cooperation.
Delegates at the session praised the GGI's focus on international fairness and justice, reaffirmed the UN's central role, and called for reforms to make global governance more inclusive. The initiative has already garnered support from over 140 countries and international organizations.
Open and inclusive, the Group of Friends welcomes more like-minded countries. As Fu Cong put it, "Let's pool our collective strength, uphold multilateralism, and work together for a future of fairness." Sounds like the global squad we need! 🌟
