Hong Kong Fire Victims Now Stable as Support Extends to 2026

Yesterday (Dec 9), Hong Kong's Hospital Authority (HA) confirmed that all 24 patients still hospitalized for injuries from the devastating fire at Wang Fuk Court are now in stable condition. That last seriously injured person was upgraded from critical earlier on Tuesday—huge relief for everyone 🏥🙏.

Since the blaze, 79 residents have been treated in public hospitals, with 19 facing critical moments. HA's medical teams are continuing top-notch care—everything from surgeries and physical rehab to psychological support for patients and their families ❤️.

On top of that, HA will waive all medical fees for Wang Fuk Court residents until December 31, 2026. Social workers are also out in full force, helping folks with recovery plans, paperwork, and everyday needs 🎗️.

Meanwhile, city authorities are fast-tracking a fire safety overhaul on building maintenance projects to prevent future incidents. It’s a wake-up call for us all—time to check those smoke alarms and electrical wiring at home! 🔥🏠
