Hong Kong Lays to Rest Fallen Fireman Ho Wai-ho

Yesterday, December 19, 2025, residents of Hong Kong gathered for an official funeral with full honors to bid farewell to Ho Wai-ho, the 37-year-old firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice while battling the Tai Po blaze last month.

Ho joined the Hong Kong Fire Services Department in 2016 and served with unwavering dedication for nine years. To recognize his bravery, the department posthumously promoted him to the rank of Senior Fireman — a special honor given after ones passing. 🚒🔥

The solemn ceremony brought together Hos family, colleagues and community members. Fellow firefighters formed a guard of honor, and attendees paid their respects with flowers and moments of silence. The event was a moving reminder of the courage and commitment of those who run towards danger to keep us safe.

While Tai Pos rebuilding continues, Hos legacy lives on in every training drill and safety campaign inspired by his passion. His story reminds us to appreciate the heroes among us and the risks they face every day. ❤️
