Ukraine’s 20-Point Peace Plan Almost Ready; Russia Says It Differs Sharply

Last Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared that the updated 20-point peace plan to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict is about 90% complete 🚀. He’s set to meet former U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida tomorrow (December 28) to hash out key issues like security guarantees and territorial concerns.

Zelenskyy added that if Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees to a 60-day ceasefire, Ukraine will put the entire plan to a nationwide referendum. He stressed that without Russia and European countries signing on, the document can’t be finalized 🤝.

But Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov hit back, saying Ukraine’s 20-point proposal is “fundamentally different” from the 27-point framework Russia has been discussing with the United States. He urged everyone to focus on “substantive issues” rather than deadlines or political posturing ⚡.

Analysts note that Russia’s ramped-up defense production—tanks up 2.2×, missiles up 9.6× and body armor up nearly 18× since 2022—gives Moscow leverage on the ground. With these gains and key ties to Washington, Russia isn’t in a rush to settle quickly.

Tomorrow’s Florida meeting could be a game-changer. Will Trump back Zelenskyy’s blueprint? And will Putin agree to the ceasefire? Stay tuned as this high-stakes diplomatic play unfolds 📅✨.
