China’s New Giant Panda Base in Sichuan Opens for Trial Visits 🐼

🐼 Today, December 29, 2025, the Mianyang base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Sichuan began trial operations! Spanning about 120 hectares, this new conservation hub blends state-of-the-art care with engaging education.

Key features:

  • 54 specialized enclosures where pandas can roam freely 🌿
  • On-site medical and rescue facilities 🏥
  • Breeding programs to support panda populations ❤️
  • Interactive public education zones 📚
  • Capacity for up to 22,000 visitors daily 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

In November, 20 giant pandas were relocated to Mianyang. After more than a month of careful acclimatization—helping them get used to their new surroundings—all of them are thriving in their spacious, lush habitats. 🌲

For young eco-enthusiasts in South and Southeast Asia, this base offers a unique window into wildlife conservation: part safari, part interactive learning. It’s a chance to see these beloved creatures up close and learn about efforts to protect them. 💬

Over the next few months, the site will expand to include field trips, volunteer opportunities, and hands-on workshops—perfect for students and young professionals keen on making a difference. 💡
