Air Travel Soars: Record Labor Day Journey in China

Hey travelers! This Labor Day holiday, the skies are set for a major boom as China's civil aviation gears up for a record-breaking journey with an estimated 10.75 million air travelers from May 1-5. That averages around 2.15 million trips per day – talk about a flight frenzy! ✈️

Peak days, May 1 and May 5, are expected to see over 2.3 million trips, connecting key hubs like Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Chengdu-Chongqing. Meanwhile, scenic routes to hotspots such as Xishuangbanna, Lijiang, and Lhasa are capturing the wanderlust of domestic travelers.

International journeys are also on the rise with top destinations including Japan, the Republic of Korea, and several Southeast Asian nations drawing more visitors than ever. Eased visa policies and smoother tax refund services are fueling this surge, prompting airlines to expand capacity with 88,000 scheduled flights and an additional 173 extra flights approved.

However, with high temperatures and a chance of heavy rainfall expected nationwide, safety remains a top priority. Airlines and authorities are on standby to implement robust measures and ensure a smooth and secure travel experience. Get ready for a holiday adventure that’s nothing short of epic! 🌦️
