China Unveils 28-Player Roster for Women’s Asia Cup Camp

Hey hoop fans! The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) just dropped their 28-player roster for the women’s team, and the excitement is real! This dynamic group, featuring standout talents like center Li Yueru (currently dazzling in the Turkish league) and star performers from the recent WCBA finals, is gearing up for the FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Shenzhen, Guangdong from July 13 to 20.

The roster brings together top-notch players from powerhouses like Dongguan and Sichuan. With names such as Huang Sijing, Yang Liwei, Yang Shuyu, Chen Mingling, Han Xu, Li Meng, Wang Siyu, Jia Saiqi, along with prominent figures like Pan Zhenqi, Li Yuan, Zhang Ru and rising star Zhang Ziyu, there's plenty to be excited about on the court! 🏀✨

Coach Gong Luming highlighted that this selection isn’t just about excelling in national competitions—it’s also a stepping stone toward Olympic glory at the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He said, "Any excellent player is wanted for the national team training list, and hopefully through training, we can select the best players to participate in major competitions."

The training schedule is set to intensify with sessions in Kunming from April 20 to May 18, followed by focused drills in Beijing from May 19 to June 10. Plus, six warmup games between early June and early July will pave the way for their final sprint as they arrive in Shenzhen on July 10.
