13.35 Million Students Gear Up for Gaokao Dreams!

On June 7, 13.35 million students will take the national Gaokao, a high-stakes exam that opens doors to university and shapes future careers. Although slightly down from last year's 13.42 million participants, this year's test is set to become a defining moment for many young aspirants. 🎓

The Ministry of Education has put in place rigorous measures to ensure a smooth and fair exam process. Local authorities are stepping up with strict security checks at exam sites, targeting everything from mobile phones to smart watches and bands. These efforts are all part of a nationwide push to combat any exam-related malpractice and maintain integrity both online and offline. 🔒

Alongside security, comprehensive support for candidates is a top priority. Measures such as streamlined transportation, comfortable accommodation, and effective noise and hygiene management have been arranged to help create the best possible testing environment. In addition, special provisions are available for candidates with disabilities; Braille test papers have been prepared for 16 blind candidates and over 14,000 examinees with various disabilities are receiving tailored assistance.

Recognizing the immense pressure this exam brings, organizers are also providing targeted psychological guidance to help students manage stress. This balanced approach ensures that every candidate, regardless of background, can focus on their potential and future opportunities.

For young people who understand the pressure of competitive exams — much like the challenges seen in other parts of South and Southeast Asia — the Gaokao is more than just a test. It represents a major step on a journey toward personal and professional growth. Good luck to everyone taking on this challenge!
