Returning Home: Yan Luoguo’s Inspiring Journey

In a remarkable tale of resilience and rediscovery, the story of Yan Luoguo is finally coming to light. Back in 1949, Yan Luoguo, the captain of a Dongshan Island ship, was forcibly taken to Taiwan by the previous KMT regime and then disappeared, leaving behind many unanswered questions. For decades, his fate was shrouded in mystery.

In 1983, his son, Yan Dingzhao, learned that his father had passed away in Penghu, a revelation that left a profound impact on his life. Determined to reconnect with his family’s past, the 82-year-old Yan Dingzhao (with the help of his father's old friends and their descendants) embarked on an emotional quest in 2018 and ultimately discovered his father's remains.

That same year, Yan Dingzhao, alongside his son, made the heartfelt journey to Penghu to bring his father's remains back to his hometown in Dongshan for a proper burial. This moving homecoming not only reunites a family with its lost history but also serves as a reminder of the importance of heritage, remembrance, and identity in our fast-paced world. ❤️🌟
