Meet Alexander Zazulin, a third-generation Russian born and raised in Xinjiang whose life has been in perfect harmony with the accordion since childhood 🎶. His passion for music led him to master playing, repairing, and collecting this unique instrument.
In 1991, Alexander opened his renowned accordion repair shop, quickly earning local and international acclaim. Over the past 40 years, he’s assembled an impressive collection of over 800 accordions from more than 20 countries—each with its own unique story.
With support from the local government, he established the Alexander Accordion Museum on Liuxing Street in Yining. Spanning 1,200 square meters, the museum is a treasure trove where every accordion sings a tale of tradition and innovation.
In 2013, his dedication was recognized when he was honored as an intangible cultural heritage inheritor for preserving the Bayan accordion tradition of the Russian ethnic group in Xinjiang. For Alexander, each melody is a blend of personal passion and a mission to keep cultural history alive in a rapidly evolving world.
This inspiring journey reminds us that tradition and modern life can dance in perfect harmony. Dive into the world of accordions and let their timeless tunes spark your imagination! 😊
