In an impressive rescue effort, more than 740 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan. The Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan confirmed that by midday Friday, operations at the Astara border checkpoint ensured a smooth transit for the evacuees.
Thanks to a dedicated on-site task force and support from an association of overseas Chinese residing in Azerbaijan, many evacuees have been transported by bus 🚍 to hotels in Baku, while others have already booked flights ✈️ back home. The embassy continues to assist new arrivals at the Astara crossing with all necessary support.
