Wang Yi Pledges Steadfast Support for Cambodia Amid Global Unrest

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reinforced his country's commitment to being Cambodia's trustworthy friend and partner amid global uncertainties. Speaking in Kuala Lumpur at the China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, he highlighted the need for stronger cooperative measures to tackle challenges like online gambling, telecom fraud, counterfeit production, and smuggling—issues that impact everyday lives.

Wang Yi pointed out that the U.S. tariffs on Cambodia and other Southeast Asian economies aim to curb their rightful development, a move that contrasts sharply with Cambodia's recent zero-tariff treatment for all tariff lines—a gesture warmly welcomed as true friendship 🤝.

Discussing regional stability, the minister also touched upon the delicate situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border. He noted that while both nations may have differing views, their shared commitment to peaceful resolution ultimately benefits the community, with China ready to play a constructive, impartial role.

Prak Sokhonn, Cambodia's deputy prime minister and foreign minister, expressed genuine appreciation for this supportive stance, emphasizing that in today’s fast-paced world, strong regional bonds and mutual respect are key to navigating challenges and seizing opportunities 🌏.
