Heavy Rain & Storm Warnings Impact 10+ Chinese Provinces

Hey everyone, heads up! 🌧️ China’s National Meteorological Center has rolled out yellow alerts for heavy to torrential rain from 2 p.m. Sunday to 2 p.m. Monday. Over ten provinces—including Heilongjiang, Jilin, Shanxi, Hebei, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Yunnan—are bracing for some intense weather action.

In areas like eastern Guangxi, northwestern Guangdong, and the eastern coasts, rainfall could rack up between 250 and 320 millimeters! Some spots might even see hourly bursts of rain reaching up to 80 mm. Besides the rain, expect severe convective weather with strong gales, hail, and winds that could exceed force 8, and in some regions, even push past force 10.

Residents in parts of Hebei, including Xinglong County, are in for a prolonged rainy spell over the next three days. Authorities have even evacuated seven villages in Liudaohe Town, setting up a temporary shelter with over 800 beds at Liudaohe Middle School, stocked with essentials like food and first aid supplies.

On top of that, alerts for mountain torrents and geological hazards (like landslides and flash floods) are in place across several areas including parts of Gansu, Qinghai, Beijing, and southwestern provinces. The message is clear: avoid mountainous zones and river valleys to steer clear of any unexpected dangers. Stay safe out there and keep an eye on local updates!
