Echoes of Peace: Seoul Hosts Cultural Exchange to Mark 80 Years Since WWII Victory

Hey everyone! Seoul’s got all the vibes this week as the ‘Echoes of Peace’ cultural exchange took over the city, marking the 80th anniversary of the anti-fascist victory in WWII. 🇰🇷🤝🇨🇳

Co-hosted by China Media Group, the China Cultural Center in Seoul and the National Memorial of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, the event brought together over 200 guests — from diplomats to academics, media pros and cultural creatives.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, and Kim Jin-pyo, former speaker of South Korea’s National Assembly, shared heartfelt video messages. They reminded us that 80 years ago, under the banner of the anti-Japanese national united front led by the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people and their global allies pitched in to defeat fascism. Their spirit and sacrifice still inspire us today!

Shen emphasized that history is our best textbook, urging everyone to draw wisdom and strength from the past to tackle modern challenges together. 💪

Dai Bing, China’s ambassador to South Korea, echoed this unity, stressing that China stands ready to deepen its strategic partnership with South Korea — staying true to friendship, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.

Kim Jin-pyo hopes the event will act as a bridge for both peoples to deepen friendship and work toward a peaceful future.

To wrap things up, attendees enjoyed film screenings from both countries about the war of resistance. These powerful stories on screen revisit shared memories, honor the heroes and remind us why peace and neighbourly support matter more than ever. 🎥✨

All in all, ‘Echoes of Peace’ was more than a ceremony — it was a shout-out to a future built on unity, shared history and cultural creativity! 🌏❤️
