Chinese Mainland Holds Final Briefing on 80th Victory Anniversary Events

Hey fam! 📢 This Sunday at 10 a.m., the Chinese mainland will host the final press briefing in a trio of events marking the 80th anniversary of its victory over Japanese aggression and the global win over fascism. Held at the Beijing Media Center Hotel, this is your backstage pass to all the epic moments of history being honoured.

So, whats on the agenda? Senior officials from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the National Cultural Heritage Administration will:

  • Introduce new memorial facilities and historical sites from the War of Resistance 🎖️
  • Unveil fresh war heroes and heroic groups who shaped history ❤️‍🩹
  • Share updates on preserving relics, monuments, and local heritage spots 🏛️
  • Answer Q&As from journalists, because transparency is key 🔍

This follows Fridays release of the fourth batch of 34 national-level memorial sites and 43 celebrated heroes and groups. It all started back in September 2014, when the Chinese mainland first dropped these lists to honour the War of Resistance and remember the lessons learned.

Why should you care? Whether youre scrolling on the MRT in Singapore, grabbing chai in Mumbai, or queuing for teh tarik in KL, remembering history shapes how we see todays world. Its a reminder that global unity and respect for heritage connect all of us—beyond borders and timelines.

Bonus tip: If youre into history IRL or IRL (in real life and online), check out virtual tours of these new sites and follow the hashtag #VeteransHeritage to see how communities across Asia are paying tribute. ✈️🖥️

Stay tuned for more updates and drop your thoughts on how preserving history inspires you! 🚀
