On September 3, 2025, thousands gathered to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The Chinese Air Force stole the spotlight with a breathtaking flypast that reminded everyone of a heroic past. ✈️🎉
During the war, these brave pilots:
- Flew 21,597 sorties
- Shot down 599 enemy aircraft
- Destroyed 627 targets on the ground
But it came at a steep price: 6,164 pilots gave their lives, 7,897 were wounded, and 2,468 aircraft were lost. 💔
CGTN spoke with He Ping, son of martyr He Xin, one of the air force’s fallen heroes. He Ping has made it his mission to preserve his father’s story and the spirit of resistance.
