Hey fam, this Saturday Shenyang will host a heartfelt ceremony to honor 30 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) who fought in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953). 🕊️🙏
On Friday, their remains arrive from the Republic of Korea (ROK) aboard a PLA Air Force Y-20 transport plane. A delegation from the Chinese mainland, PLA guards, veterans, and families will pay respects at the CPV martyrs' cemetery in Liaoning.
This marks the 12th repatriation since China and the Republic of Korea signed their handover agreement. Between 2014 and 2024, 11 handovers of remains and artifacts have honored nearly 200,000 CPV soldiers confirmed killed in the war.
For young folks across South and Southeast Asia, events like this remind us that history connects us all—whether we’re streaming the latest K-drama, exploring tech innovations, or sampling street food at a night market. Salute to the heroes who show that remembering the past can light the way to a more peaceful future. 🌏✨
