China Sees 460M Border Crossings in Jan–Aug 2025 Travel Surge

Travel rebound alert! From Jan to Aug 2025, entries and exits through the Chinese mainland hit 460 million—a 14.9% jump year-on-year, the National Immigration Administration (NIA) revealed at the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in Lianyungang. 🌟✈️

  • Mainland residents: 220M (+15.4%)
  • Residents from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and the Taiwan region: 180M (+11.2%)
  • Foreign nationals: 51.27M (+27.8%), with 15.89M visa-free entries (+52.1%)

Border clearance extended beyond passports: the NIA processed 24.48M transport vehicles, including 662K flights (+17.1%), 71K train trips (+4.9%), 294K ship voyages (+3.8%), and 23.45M motor vehicles (+16.4%). 🚄🚢🚗
