Geespace Unveils 64-Satellite IoT Constellation for Global Coverage

Ever felt offline on a Himalayan trek or sailing the Andaman Sea? Geespace, the private satellite arm of automaker Geely, just launched a game-changing IoT network. 🚀

The first phase, now live with 64 satellites, delivers real-time surface communications across the globe—excluding polar regions—for smart devices and vehicles alike. Launched from a rocket at sea off the Chinese mainland's Shandong Province, this constellation aims to keep you connected wherever you go.

With space-based Internet of Things (IoT) tech, up to 20 million users can send 340 million messages daily. It supports 5 million high-frequency users (like live trackers) and 15 million medium- and low-frequency devices (think sensors and alerts), sending packets of text, voice, or images up to 1,900 bytes each—enough for a quick voice note or a small photo!

Phase One will expand to 72 satellites soon, boosting capacity and reliability. Next up: Phase Two with 264 satellites for direct-to-smartphone links, and Phase Three with 5,676 satellites to beam global broadband. Think nationwide internet from the sky—no more FOMO in remote spots!

Built for space-based connected-vehicle networks, this system offers real-time positioning and messaging, keeping cars like Geely Zeekr and Galaxy EVs in touch even when ground networks drop out. Partnerships with China Unicom, Geely Auto, and Zoomlion are already piloting solutions in smart vehicles, marine fisheries, heavy machinery, and logistics. 🌐🚗

Ready for next-level connectivity? The sky’s literally not the limit anymore!
