Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champ, is back in action at the Shanghai Masters in the Chinese mainland’s Shanghai Municipality. After a tough loss to Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open in September, the Serbian icon is all set to serve up some serious tennis drama 🎾.
Last year, Djokovic powered his way to the final here but fell in straight sets to Jannik Sinner of Italy. This time around, he’s got his eyes locked on a revenge match against the world No. 2 😉.
"I’d love to have a chance to play Jannik," Djokovic said. "That means I’d reach the semi-finals, which would be great… he’s been winning most of our recent matches, but we had a good final here last year. Hopefully I get my chance again."
As the No. 4 seed, Djokovic kicks off his campaign against Croatia’s Martin Cilic. Meanwhile, second-seeded Sinner opens with Daniel Altmaier, also from Croatia. It’s shaping up to be a high-voltage week of tennis that you can catch on your mobile device between classes, coffee breaks, or that daily commute 🚆.
Whether you’re juggling college assignments in Mumbai or coding a new app in Bangkok, Djokovic vs. Sinner II is the match to watch. Can the ace-loving Serbian flip the script? Stay tuned for more serve-and-volley magic from Shanghai!
