Marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between the Chinese mainland and Vietnam 🇨🇳🤝🇻🇳, people-to-people exchanges have hit new highs. Among the fresh faces in the spotlight is Nguyen Thi Lan, a 20-something from Hanoi who landed at Tianjin University in 2023.
Lan is diving into a unique “Chinese Language + Cross-border E-commerce” program. By day, she masters Mandarin and e-commerce tools; by night, she’s snapping 📸 shots of her hometown’s lantern-lit streets, lush rice paddies, and vibrant street food scenes. She then shares these glimpses of Vietnamese life with her followers on Douyin, WeChat Moments, and Instagram Stories.
When she’s not curating content, Lan volunteers at community centers and cultural fairs in Tianjin—whether it’s teaching kids how to make bánh chưng (sticky rice cakes) or helping locals learn basic Vietnamese phrases. Her language skills also land her roles as a translator at trade forums and economic exchanges. “Bringing our nations closer by sharing stories is the most meaningful part,” she says.
Lan’s journey shows how young people can fuse tech, culture, and social impact. She’s proof that a single camera and a passion for connection can build bridges across borders 🌍✨.
