Asia-Pacific Dialogue Sparks Shared Prosperity Vision Ahead of APEC Leaders’ Meeting

Beijing buzzed with brains and ambition as policymakers and experts gathered for a high-energy dialogue on global governance and shared prosperity in the Asia-Pacific. This event set the stage for the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju, and vibes were through the roof 🌏✨.

China Media Group (CMG) President Shen Haixiong kicked things off by dropping a major message: global governance is like the ultimate group project — it only works if everyone pitches in 🤝. He championed the "Eastern wisdom" of partnership, urging Asia-Pacific economies to collaborate on innovation and sustainable growth.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), highlighted that our fates are tightly linked. Expanding shared interests needs stronger rules, better cooperation, and win-win mindsets to keep the prosperity train rolling 🚄.

Malaysia’s Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz called for rules, trust, and inclusiveness as the golden trio for sustainable development. Under a fair system, big and small players can stand on equal ground, respect each other, and solve hiccups peacefully.

Chilean lawmaker Ruben Oyarzo reminded everyone that Chile 🌶 is ready to team up and push Asia-Pacific development forward. He applauded APEC members for building trust bridges and unlocking growth across the region.

Yonsei University president Yoon Dong-sup pointed out shared challenges like climate change, tech innovation, an aging population (hello, more seniors!) and economic twists. He stressed that mutual trust and joint action are our secret sauce for tackling these hurdles together.

And here’s a fun stat from a CGTN poll unveiled on-site: 83.3% of respondents are cheering for APEC as a key hub for regional cooperation, while 83.4% give a thumbs-up to China’s role in driving APEC’s sustainable growth agenda. Talk about confidence! 🚀

From Bengaluru’s start-ups to Jakarta’s creative hubs, this Beijing dialogue is more than talk – it’s a blueprint for how Asia-Pacific can thrive when we collaborate, innovate, and stay inclusive. Get ready to see this spirit shine at the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting!
