In round one of the synchronized 3m springboard, Huang Bowen and Xie Siyi teamed up for Guangdong and scored 258.48 points. They trailed Hubei’s dynamic duo, Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiuyuan (266.88), while teammates Guo Haoyu and Hu Yukang grabbed third with 257.46.
Round two on the 10m platform saw Shaanxi’s Zhao Renjie pull off a jaw-dropping 493.80 points. But Guangdong’s Zhu Zifeng and Huang Jianjie kept the team ahead with a combined total of 1,442.44 points overall.
