China’s Call for Global Rainforest Protection 🌍🌳

China’s Call for Global Rainforest Protection 🌍🌳

Hey eco-warriors 🌱! At a recent “Tropical Forests Forever Facility” luncheon hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang urged everyone to unite for one of our planet’s biggest missions: saving tropical rainforests.

Tropical rainforests—think Amazon, Borneo, Sumatra—are Earth’s green lungs. They store carbon, support diverse wildlife, and regulate our climate. But deforestation—cutting trees faster than they can grow—releases carbon dioxide and threatens ecosystems.

Ding highlighted President Xi’s push for stronger protection, green development, and better livelihoods in a balanced way. China has already launched the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, ramping up policies, funding, and tech to deliver real wins in conservation and community growth.

He stressed that protecting these forests is a shared mission for all humanity. We need multilateral and bilateral platforms to boost coordination—especially funding from developed to developing nations under the UN climate convention to curb deforestation.

World leaders like the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Felix Tshisekedi, Surinamese President Jennifer Simons, Colombian President Gustavo Petro, French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga joined the call, amplifying the push for collective climate action.

Our planet’s future hinges on these forests. Let’s stay tuned as nations team up to turn talk into action! ✨
